This years Girls U15 side decided to show everyone how the League Cup can be won. They did it the hard way, BACK-TO-BACK.

After the 2007 League Cup win its always hard to hold onto the mantel. This year the girls decided to show what a clean run looks like through the finals. With a goal differential of 34-3 between 7 matches the free-flowing fast paced play of this side was wonderful on the eye and more than the other sides were ready for.

The girls did not have an easy run through the tournament by any stretch of the imagination. But the flow of play from the back, hard attacking from the outsides and incredibly consistent production from Tamia Hassan up top, with at least one goal in every match, the girls were not to be bested in this tournament.

The girls had a tough fight in the semi's against old rival's West Coast FC. The match was tight end-to-end affair offering only one goal in the first 50 minutes. During a flurry at our defending goal, keeper Tiffany Geer went out hard, took a nasty blow in the air bounced off the ground and came back quickly to make the inspirational fingertip save that pushed the team on to capture another goal and a 2-0 finish.

The finals were a special gem, as a they should be. A determined West Coast United side came out strong and played a physical match from the first whistle. The motion from CZ Elite was passionate and physical. Quick passing and a relentless pace began to wear the West Coast United side down. Attacking from the back Gabby Pena and Mel Fox pushed play forward and a rock solid pairing of Natalie Zeenie and Katlin Almeida kept the defending third clear of trouble. The girls managed to produce 4 goals from the run of play. Culminating with an impassioned run seconds before the final whistle when Tamia struck the final goal of the tournament and capping a 4-1 win and a repeat for this side.
